The FACYDE Annual Meeting will be in 2013 in Pontedeume

Yesterday at 19:10 pm, from Cadiz, our partner Carlos Martinez has confirmed that AFC Orballo has been unanimously elected as organizer of the Annual Meeting of FACYDE for 2013.

We thank the Board of the Federation and Member Associations shown to support us such a choice.

Sample about the costumes of Muros

The collection of field work and study on the clothing of the town of Muros, conducted by the Group Ethnographic Dasmariñas, approaches to the public from April 19 to June 3, 2012 through the sample that tries to teach all the splendor the traditional costume of an area that, through literature, became a paradigm of the Galician outfit.

Winner of the Basket of Carnival

On March 6, 2012 was presented the Carnival basket raffled on February 20, won the raffle whose numbers would coincide with the last three digits of the draw of the ONCE coupon.

The lucky winner was Montse García Martínez and the winning number was 352.

The basket was delivered by our fellow Board, Cristina Fraga in GADIS Pontedeume.

We just have to congratulate the winner and thanks for offering us your picture

2011 Pontedeume’s May

I am proud of my team group and to chair this Association, but above all, I am PROUD of these children. Every Friday and Saturday young and old come to our Association to learn our culture and “folklore”, putting a lot of effort and rehersal time so we can have results like this afternoon:
First prize in the “Maios” 2011, for the “Maio”, the song and stage performance.
This is as a result of the effort the children and the teachers put in every week to try and take the name of the Association  and of Pontedeume to a very high level.
Personally tell you, this has been a great experience, trying to make a “Maio”, because it was something we never made and to be the first time we didn´t do it so bad. I beleive that if a person can make something, then other people are also able to do it., because there is something very important “if you beleive, you can” and that is what has happened to us, we beleived it and we made it with a great effort and working as a group anything can be done.
Therefore I would, I congratulate you and thank you for all you have given this weekend to our Association and the enrichment you have given me personally.

Missis Manuela Lamas Vázquez wins the Carnival cart

Folk and Cultural Association Orballo, delivers to Mrs Manuela Vazquez Lamas the Caranaval Basket, drawn on March 4, 2011, with the last three digits of coupon ONCE .The number ended in 962. This delivery took place on Saturday March 5, 2011, in the Puentedeume Gadis, where the basket had been shown.

Welcome to the new website of the Folk and Cultural Association Orballo

From this new space, the AFC Orballo wants to show to all the Eumesa neighbourhood and specially to our members, the activities that will take place at our Association.

In addition, this space will serve as a communication tool between Internet users interested in dance and traditional music and cultural activities to promote ethnographic resources that our folk history has.
