Last week, the Japanese broadcaster Wow Wow made contact with our association, in order to record the dance more typical of our land “the Muiñeira” for his TV show “Railway Story”, in which This shows pictures of train travel throughout the Spanish territory.

Tras haber grabado por diferentes capitales Españolas, hemos conseguido que el equipo se desplazase a Pontedeume, para poder inmortalizar en imágenes, la belleza de la villa de los Andrade.

The recording was made, on Friday October 26, at the Tower of Andrade, where thanks to the collaboration of Excmo.Ayuntamiento Pontedeume, the television crew was able to make the recording from the top of the tower including shots taken.

The dance group, accompanied by a quintet of bagpipers, danced the “Muiñeira Montañesa” repeatedly, to give play to the cameras not lose detail, or dance steps, or of music and instruments.

After recording, the Councillor for Culture Ms Ascension Olarte and Vicente Pontedeume Mayor, D. Gabriel Torrente Piñeiro, the whole team received television thanks to its presence in the town.

Since we want to thank our association Sr.Terumi Moriya, Japanese television coordinator, for telling us for this program and the City of Pontedeume, for his willingness and help whenever they ask to be named after Orballo and Pontedeume beyond where we’re going.

On 22 August, the group ‘s Cantareir Orballo, appeared in the Jardines de Méndez Núñez de A Coruña, invited by the Hon. Council of A Coruña. The event which was included in the festival program María Pita 2012, started at 20.00, and for an hour, the group tried to take a tour of the various traditional rhythms Gallegos, played with vocals, tambourines, frame drums and cans, making the public may listen Muiñeiras disfrutase, Pasodobles, Jacks and up to Canto de Ronda.

On Aug. 3, took place in the village of Pontedeume, the XXV INTERNATIONAL FOLKLORE FESTIVAL OF PONTEDEUME, organized by the Folklore and Cultural Orballo.

The event, stood on this issue in the Plaza de San Roque (Plaza de la Calzada). As participants in addition to the host group, we visited Osmk groups (Siberia), Colima (Mexico) and Ronda (Malaga).

Began just after 19.30 pm the parade through the streets of the town, from polar Plaza Real, where he joined the parade, the representatives of each group pairs, which were received in the City of Pontedeume, by the municipal corporation.

Arrived at the venue and after nine at night, started the festival, where each of the participating groups could demonstrate proficiency in the traditional songs and dances of each country.

Finally, there was a delivery of gifts that could have a do remember passing through the town of Pontedeume and the International Folklore Festival of Pontedeume.
