On Sunday June 3, was held at the Boardwalk Pontedeume the twenty-ninth edition of the “Día da Muiñeira” Pontedeume.
The event involved a total of ten associations from different parts of the province. It started at 17.30 with a parade which started from the Alameda Raxoi, and continued by the main streets of the town Eumesa to reach the venue of the event, the promenade.
The event was presented by our colleague Roberto Fernandez, and this year we as a preacher with D. Early Xosé Castro, Gaiteiro of “Early in Eirís” and lover of traditional culture and folklore.
Once concentrated there, all participating groups, under the sound of the pipe band of Orballo, danced three muñeiras. To finish the event, the smallest group of the School of Dance AFC Orballo, presented a gift to each of the participating groups.
The striking that the act has made the TV Galicia, particularly the “Vaia Troula” show interest in it, making a recording of everything that happened. The show airs next Sunday June 10, at 2200 hours in the TVG.
From this space, we show our appreciation to the reporters of the program, Borja and Bernard, for the love and effort that addressed the event.
From Orballo Board, we also want to thank all the members of the association, friends and family to do that every year we work with more enthusiasm to continue to show a small part of our culture:
